Ustaria – a word encountered by many tourists on the walls of inns in the Engadine. In the Lower Engadine local dialect Ladin, it is the word for “guest-house”, better known in Italian as Osteria.
The related wordplay on Uster was obvious for a cosy inn in the centre of Uster. In our name another pun comes into play with illuster (splendid, arousing admiration, etc.), which also influenced the idea for our range of culinary offerings.
